Functional Tests + Artery Imaging

Advanced Heart Check-Up Package $878

Everything in the Plus package — a comprehensive blood panel, a resting ECG, a treadmill stress test, and a transthoracic echocardiogram — with a CT coronary calcium score added on. The calcium score detects the earliest hardening in your arteries, which can develop silently, making this package well suited to those aged 40 and above or with a family history.

5 Tests All Included
One Visit About 2 Hours
Results in 7 Days Reviewed by Doctor

The Advanced Heart Check-Up Package is for anyone who wants both a functional and a structural view of their cardiovascular health — from blood biomarkers and how the heart performs under exertion, through to imaging that reveals the earliest hardening of the coronary arteries with a CT calcium score.

Every test is interpreted together by a heart specialist, so you leave with not just numbers and images but a clear understanding of your heart health and what, if anything, to do next.

The Foundation

Comprehensive Blood Panel

The Advanced Heart Check-Up Package includes the same rigorous 13-biomarker blood panel as our higher tiers, testing beyond standard metrics to uncover hidden cardiovascular risks.

Cardiovascular Risk

The Heart

  • Lipid panel — total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, triglycerides
  • ApoB — a more accurate measure of atherogenic particles than LDL alone
  • hsCRP — high-sensitivity C-reactive protein, a marker of vascular inflammation
  • Lp(a) — a genetically determined risk factor for early heart disease (tested once)

Metabolic Health

Energy & Processing

  • Fasting glucose — screens for diabetes and pre-diabetes
  • HbA1c — 3-month average blood sugar control
  • Fasting insulin / HOMA-IR — detects early insulin resistance before diabetes develops

Organ & System Function

The Support Network

  • Full blood count (FBC) — anaemia, infection, blood disorders
  • Liver function — ALT, AST, bilirubin, albumin
  • Kidney function — creatinine, eGFR, urea
  • Thyroid function — TSH (thyroid disorders affect heart rate)
  • Calcium phosphate — bone and metabolic health
  • Uric acid — gout and cardiovascular risk marker
Beyond the Baseline

Cardiac Diagnostics

The Advanced Heart Check-Up Package pairs your blood work with four heart tests — your heart at rest, under exertion, a structural ultrasound, and a CT scan that looks for early hardening of the coronary arteries.

Durations listed for each test are estimates for the procedure itself and do not include registration, preparation, or recovery time. We aim to keep your visit efficient while ensuring each test is performed safely and thoroughly — actual times may vary with individual circumstances.

Resting ECG

A quick, painless recording of your heart’s electrical activity at rest. Detects irregular rhythms, signs of a previous heart attack, chamber enlargement, and other structural changes.

Duration
5 minutes
Pain level
None

Treadmill Stress Test

Monitors your ECG, heart rate, and blood pressure while you walk on a treadmill at gradually increasing speed and incline. Reveals exercise-induced changes — such as reduced blood flow (ischaemia) or arrhythmias — that may not appear at rest.

Duration
15–20 minutes
Radiation
None

Transthoracic Echocardiogram

A real-time ultrasound that provides a moving, structural picture of your heart. Assesses heart valve function, pumping strength (ejection fraction), wall motion, chamber sizes, and the pericardium. At our clinic the scan is performed by our female healthcare professionals.

Duration
20–30 minutes
Radiation
None (ultrasound)

Coronary Calcium Score

A low-dose CT scan that quantifies calcified plaque in your coronary arteries. A score of zero suggests minimal plaque buildup. Higher scores correlate with increased cardiovascular risk and help guide preventive treatment decisions.

Duration
10 minutes
Contrast dye

Is This Package Right for You?

Who Should Consider the Advanced Heart Check-Up Package?

Consider this package if

  • You are 40 or over and want to catch the earliest hardening in your arteries with a CT calcium score — this can develop without any symptoms
  • You have heart disease in the family and want an early-detection layer
  • You would like to see both how your heart works (treadmill) and how it looks (scans)

Common patient profile: Age 40 and above — especially with a family history or one or more risk factors.

Important to note

  • This package is available at our Orchard (Camden) clinic only, as it includes a CT calcium score
  • The CT calcium score uses a low dose of radiation and does not require contrast dye
  • The treadmill stress test requires you to be able to walk on a treadmill
  • If you would like a detailed scan of the arteries themselves, the Comprehensive package adds a CT coronary angiogram

Before Your Visit

How to Prepare for the Advanced Heart Check-Up Package

Fast for 8–10 Hours

Required for accurate blood test results. Water is fine. Avoid food, coffee, and sugary drinks from the night before.

Wear Comfortable Clothing & Walking Shoes

You will walk on a treadmill for the stress test, so bring or wear suitable footwear and loose-fitting, comfortable clothes.

Bring Your Medication List

A complete list of current medications and supplements helps the doctor interpret your results, as some medicines can affect your heart rate during the stress test.

Avoid Caffeine on Screening Day

Caffeine can affect your heart rate and blood pressure readings. Skip your morning coffee or tea on the day of the screening.

Allow About 2 Hours

All tests, including the CT calcium score, are completed in a single visit. Plan your schedule accordingly — you will not need to return.

Let Us Know About Mobility Concerns

The stress test involves walking on a treadmill. Tell us in advance if you have any joint, balance, or mobility limitations so we can advise on suitable alternatives.

Common Questions

Advanced Heart Check-Up Package FAQ

What is included in the Advanced Heart Check-Up Package?

The Advanced Heart Check-Up Package ($878 NETT, inclusive of 9% GST) includes a consultation with Dr Paul Lim, comprehensive blood tests (lipid panel, ApoB, hsCRP, Lp(a), fasting glucose, HbA1c, fasting insulin/HOMA-IR, FBC, liver function, kidney function, thyroid, calcium phosphate, uric acid), a resting ECG, a treadmill stress test, a transthoracic echocardiogram, a CT coronary calcium score, and a post-screening review with Dr Paul Lim to discuss results.

How is the Advanced package different from the Plus package?

The Advanced Heart Check-Up Package includes everything in the Plus package — blood panel, resting ECG, treadmill stress test, and transthoracic echocardiogram — and adds a CT coronary calcium score, a low-dose CT scan that detects early calcified plaque in the arteries before symptoms appear. Because it uses CT imaging, the Advanced package is available at our Orchard (Camden) clinic only. The Advanced package is $878, compared with $628 for the Plus package.

Where is the Advanced Heart Check-Up Package available?

The Advanced Heart Check-Up Package is available at our Orchard (Camden) clinic only, as it includes a CT coronary calcium score — performed at the ATA Medical suite adjacent to the clinic. Our Jurong clinic offers the Basic and Plus packages.

How long does the Advanced Heart Check-Up Package take?

The Advanced Heart Check-Up Package is completed in a single clinic visit of approximately 2 hours, covering the blood draw, resting ECG, treadmill stress test, transthoracic echocardiogram, and CT coronary calcium score. Results are reviewed with your doctor within 7 working days.

What is a coronary calcium score?

A coronary calcium score is a low-dose CT scan that quantifies calcified plaque in your coronary arteries. A score of zero suggests minimal plaque buildup, while higher scores correlate with increased cardiovascular risk and help guide preventive treatment decisions. The scan takes about 10 minutes and does not require contrast dye. It is particularly useful from age 40 and for those with a family history of heart disease, as arterial hardening can develop without any symptoms.

What is a transthoracic echocardiogram?

A transthoracic echocardiogram (TTE) is a painless ultrasound scan that produces moving images of your heart. It shows how well your heart muscle is pumping (ejection fraction), how your heart valves are working, the size of the heart chambers, and the pericardium. The scan uses no radiation and takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes. At our clinic the scan is performed by our female healthcare professionals.

Can I add more tests to the Advanced Heart Check-Up Package?

Yes. You can add a CT coronary angiogram (CTCA), which brings your package in line with the Comprehensive Heart Check-Up Package, or a carotid intima-media thickness ultrasound (CIMT) or a 24-hour Holter monitor. CT-based tests are performed at our Orchard clinic. Add-on fees are billed separately.

How should I prepare for the Advanced Heart Check-Up Package?

Fast for 8–10 hours before your appointment (water is fine). Wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes for the treadmill stress test. Bring a list of your current medications and any previous medical reports. Avoid caffeine on the morning of your screening. Allow approximately 2 hours for the visit.
